So, to start of the project, a small group of us held a short interview with the wellbeing officer at Inverness College UHI today to gather some information on what exactly the college is doing to support those with mental health issues and what they would like us to design in order to help more.
I found this interview very useful and came away with plenty of information to help me with the project.
The college does quite a bit to support students however, I have realised that it isn't always obvious to students that there is actually support available as it is not advertised too well. This is where I can hopefully come in and help design something to make students aware of the support available for them.
A few suggestions made were:
Posters, booklets, leaflets, a way to advertise the guidance team Facebook page, fidget toy, newsletter
It was also mentioned that red is a colour to avoid with many people on the autism spectrum. This is really interesting and something that I will have to take into account when choosing colour schemes.
