I decided that although I did have some statistics found online, I really needed primary research (surveys carried out by me). So, the first survey I carried out was aimed at people in the UK to get a general overview of mental health within the UK population.
The survey was carried out on Survey Monkey and consisted of 10 questions. 90 responses were gathered.
The responses suggested that:
* 64% of people believe that there is still a stigma facing mental health.
* 97% believe that better mental health education is needed in schools.
* The most common mental health issues are Anxiety (78%) and Depression (89%)
A second survey will be carried out within the next week or so based on Inverness College students.
