Character design

After struggling to find a way to design the character I have decided that I will have the character either wearing his helmet or having him without facial features at all.

I love these willow tree ornaments. They have featureless faces and yet show an incredible amount of emotion in them. I really like the idea of the character looking like this.

I quite like the way this works, it allows the character to be shown on the cover without showing his facial features. Next week, I plan on starting the development of the actual cover design which should take a few more weeks of experimentation I think.
