Designing a character

This week I decided to work on character design, finding ways in which to portray the character without showing his face in full. It's been a challenge, particularly as I feel conflicted about not showing his face. I feel that the character shouldn't feel ashamed of showing his true self so this makes it difficult to design a cover like this.

I wanted to try to draw some character designs that showed his face then find a way of covering part of his face to see if this would work.

Unfortunately I feel that these are not really working, so I have decided not to create the character like this.
