Release of the briefs

So the majority of the briefs have finally been released now. I had hoped for there to be something very illustrative to work on but i cant seem to find any inspirational briefs that fit this.

I do quite like the RSA design brief called ‘Hidden figures’ which looks at finding a way to break down the physical organisational and attitudinal barriers that people with hidden disabilities and impairments can face in society to enable them to live life to the full. This would fit in well with my overall theme this year and i was thinking i could possibly focus on autism for it however i do wonder if that would be too similar to the other class i’m doing so i’m not sure.

I also have considered The Penguin Random House brief which is to re-design the cover for the book ‘Wonder’ by R.J.Palacio. The book is about a boy with a cranio facial condition who has been home educated due to his facial difference but starts mainstream education and takes the reader through the journey of a communities struggle to accept differences.

This brief also fits in well with my overall theme this year and fits with my illustration career path.

There is one more brief that i would really like to wait until it is released before settling on the one i will spend the next few months working on. The Carmelite prize brief will be released at the end of the month..so, check back in, in the next couple of weeks to see which brief i have chosen and the research and development that will take.
