Research, Research, Research!

This week after having chosen the Penguin Random House brief, i have been looking into the many different covers that already exist for the book to give some insight into how others have illustrated the cover.

I have been finding that most of the cover designs use the same blue colours, and quite simple illustrative drawings with the character with only one eye. Many also feature the character with his space helmet. I think i should try to steer away from what has already been done a lot and design something completely different.

First though, i should look at what other book cover designs for the target market there are in publication to get some kind of idea of the styles of illustration that are most suitable for this target audience. This will be my aim over the next week.
